First year was really stressful one, I could hardly eat dinner and all I had in my mind was that I was gonna trip off the stage and make a fool of myself in front of so many people. Last year was fun but somehow this year is the most fun. Before going I did Stella, Shu and Jin's hair. Stella kindly did mine. I love doing hairs!
Then it was squeezing everyone in the Claycroft corridor, taking pre-departure photos.
Oh ya and before that we were taking pics with 2 'dou dos' ( a traditional Chinese top with just one string at the back) girls from Mauritius and Singapore! They were the ultimate bomb of the night in their sexy tops! I always dream of wearing something like that but me don't dare lah.
We braved the freaking cold to the Arts Center.
And the show began...
It is a very typical Malaysian production. Somehow I felt that too much Malay and slangs were used. Non-Malaysians will not get the 'in' joke that only we Malaysian understand. But it was still very good acting and singing and dancing. The dikir was awesome as always. They did a funky rendition of Aint No Mountain. How cool is that and I thought when we were cool when we did the Banana Boat Song in 2004.
I guess the highlight of the night was when we ( as in my group of friends) got the lucky draw 3rd time running. We win it Every year. First year was Gan. Last year Fel and this year guess who is the lucky one among us. Drum rolls....none other than hot chick Stella! We were so excited. We were screaming like bimbos when she went on stage to collect the prize. She won 400 plus pounds worth of Europe travel packages. I am so happy for her.
No prizes for guessing what we did after the show.
Of course we had to linger and take more pictures with everyone we knew. If that was not enough we headed back to our kitchen and had a round table critic of the show. It was nice to hear from Jin and Frankie that they think that Suria was the best. Suria is the theme of Malaysian Nite 2004 which I was in!
