Specially For...

This is specially for Vicky...

Recipe taken from mummy's old recipe book with a bit of improvision by PJ.

Raisins Scones Recipe:

Ingredients:
120g/4 oz self raising flour (sieved)
45g/ 1 + 1/2 oz butter/margerine
45g/ 1 + 1/2 oz raisins
1 egg (beaten)
1 + 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
1 + 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
45g/ 1+1/2 oz sugar ( I only used 1 oz sugar cos I don't like too sweet.)

Method:
1. Preheat Oven at 200 degrees or Gas Mark 6-7.
2. Cut margerine into small pieces and mix well with flour.
3. Add in cream of tartar, raisins and sugar. Mix well.
4. Make a hole in middle and add in egg with vanilla essence.
5. Mix until a dough is form.
6. Divide into 8 parts and put on greased tray.
7. Bake in oven until cooked. ( I forgot how long and no mention in the recipe book. I think its about 15 mins or maybe a bit more. Poke with toothpick to see if cook.)

Hey let me know how long it takes to bake. So I can set timer next time. Oh ya if you feel its too dry can add some milk. Can also add choc chip if you like or even dessicated coconut.

Happy baking scones !

Vicky, should have one they normally sell it together with the baking stuffs unless they have a different name in the states. it is not cream. it is powder like. 1+1/2 is just one and a half. sori to confuse you. happy baking!
