Le Finale

C’est fini nos l’adventure a Paris. Au revoir. A bientot!

We chilled on top of La Fayette – The Harrods of Paris on our last night in Paris.

Le Tour Ef-iel!

Lunch at Le Cordon Bleu.

When I first saw it I felt it looked too pretentious. But it was really good. The salad was really fresh and the avocado with the prawn salad was absolutely delicious. Even Ef liked the avocado which means it is really that good.

Chef Xavier putting the final touches of to his demonstration of how to make Le Prestige (one layer chocolate mouse, one layer vanilla mousse and a layer of bomb with caramel sandwiched with almond biscuit)

The apprentices with our ‘sensei’.

We didn’t go to Paris to fool around. Its serious business.

And now our master piece..

Tarte a l’orrange..( Orange tart)

PJ’s..

Ef’s..

Yes we both made our own!

Gateau St Elois ( Chocolate and Cointreau Cake)

Ef's

PJ’s

And we both got one huge piece of the Le Prestige that sensei made. We almost had to do the impossible of carrying 6 boxes of cakes back to the hotel which is at the other side of the River Sienne. The cakes were too precious. So we took a cab ride back.

Special thanks to the Chef’s Assistants who were so professional and helpful throughout.

So happy with our cakes back in the hotel.

The highlight of the Paris trip is actually to go to Le Cordon Bleu and we both had such a great time there. It was an eye opener to see how professional chefs work. They looked so cool. Maybe it is the uniform. Maybe it is the way they can make everything seem so easy. Maybe it is the kitchen. I wish I had a cool job like that.

Finally big thank you to Ef for actually being mad enough to do this with me.

Next time the two apprentice will be heading for somewhere closer to home.

Le Cordon Bleu London.

stella, i doubt i can make st elois again without the chef xavier or the sous chef or ef. its hard work to do it alone.

ef, thats a good pic!! its better than the one you took of me. there was a Gap between my finger and the tower. and yes i laugh at the japanese boys but to be fair people must have laughed at us too when we were lost. its a fair world after all.

fel, back me up that the pic is a good pic!! oh and we were talking about you too when we were in paris. it would have been wickedy if you were there. ef and me would be laughing at you instead of ef laughing at me all the time. oh and the japanese boys, i think its your type! definitely, your type...

charlene, no we didn't work at a restaurant. we went to a culinary school. good fun. good laugh.

ok folks.. its time for part 2. its a writing style. like the movies. they do part 3 then part 2 then the begining. i think im a genius!!!
